University of Florida Experience

Students with participating Canadian schools will take four UF courses conducted online and will have the chance to experience the UF college life in Gainesville, FL.

UF courses will focus on Tourism and Hospitality and will be taught by UF faculty, who has extensive knowledge in the industry as well as online teaching. online teaching. Students from all tourism, hospitality, business and related majors will enjoy expanding their knowledge of the field while applying the learnings at their positions at Walt Disney World.

 

During their program, students will be able to experience the UF campus in Gainesville, FL through days of instruction and several cultural and experiential opportunities.

The UF Immersion experiences will include academic activities, orientation, campus tour, opportunity to meet with tourism faculty and other students in the Disney Academic Exchange program as well as UF students, guest speakers, and network with industry professionals. Students will be assisted with their international visitor paperwork, obtaining student ID cards, and other components of being a Gator.

Students will have the opportunity to visit places on campus such as the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art, the Florida Museum of Natural History and Butterfly Garden along with watching a UF sporting event. In the Gainesville and surrounding areas, upon availability of schedule, students will visit natural and cultural sites, and engage with the tourism, hospitality and sports scene in town.
If schedule allows, students will visit resorts and facilities located in central and northern Florida where they will conduct on-site research and gain insider knowledge from hospitality and recreation professionals.

We do our best for students to be based in UF dormitories and eat at campus cafeteria to get the full experience of student life in the United States. All lodging and meals will be provided for students while in UF activities (students are responsible for their own expenses while at Walt Disney World).
