University of Florida Experience

Six-weeks prior to arriving in the United States, students will take two UF courses conducted online. Upon arrival in Gainesville, Florida, students will experience the UF college life. During the first days, they will be given an on-campus orientation, on-campus tour, icebreaker activities, meet-and-greets with tourism faculty and other international students in the program. They will be assisted in finalizing international visitor paperwork, obtaining student ID cards, and receiving an overview of both the academic courses and the upcoming work experience.

Students will finish the two courses during the Summer, and will take other two courses during the Fall semester, while working at Disney.

On Campus experience

UF experience will also include days of instruction on the University campus, as well as several cultural and experiential excursions. Students will have the opportunity to visit places on campus such as the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art, the Florida Museum of Natural History and Butterfly Garden as well as watch a UF sporting event. In the Gainesville and surrounding areas, students will visit Ichetucknee Springs State Park, natural and cultural sites, and engage with the tourism, hospitality and sports scene in town. Students will be based in UF dormitories and eat at campus cafeteria to get the full experience of student life in the United States.

Before heading to Walt Disney World® Resort, students will visit resorts and facilities located in central and northern Florida where they will conduct on-site research and gain insider knowledge from hospitality and recreation professionals. All meals will be provided for students until arrival at the Walt Disney World Resort.
